Wineries and Cellars
There is evidence that wine has been produced in the Dénia region (Marina Alta) for over 2,700 years, reflecting a rich and enduring winemaking tradition. Just a short drive from Dénia, you can visit several local wineries and cellars, where you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy guided tours and wine tastings. These visits offer a unique chance to experience the region’s history, landscapes, and distinctive wine culture firsthand.
These wineries produce a variety of high-quality wines, including red, white, and rosé. The region is especially known for its wines made from Muscatel grapes, such as the renowned Marina Alta (Certificate of Origin) white wine and Mistela, a traditional sweet wine.
Other local specialties include Garnacha wines (made from Grenache, also known as the Mediterranean grape), and wines crafted from Giró grapes, which are used to produce Giró wine, vermouth, and fortified wines.
